About Capital Barriers and Temporary Fencing Ltd
Colin Clark Director:
Having cut his teeth in the world of sales working for the likes of Toyota UK, Ecolab Plc, Rentokil Initial and the Famous Brewery Bass Charrington, Colin entered the world of outdoor events as Regional Sales Manager for TPA Ltd in 2005 and after a successful 18 months selling Portable Roadway Solutions to outdoor events industry, Colin rose through the ranks and went on to become TPA’s Regional Operations Manager running their Crowd Barrier and Temporary Fencing Division based in Croydon.
Here Colin remained for a further 18 months running a profitable business catering for the vast majority of London’s Barrier and Temporary Fencing requirements until such time as TPA’s new owners VP Plc wanted to shift focus more towards the industrial construction side of their business and in September 2009 the TPA Barrier Division exited the Events Industry. This is where Colin and his wife Tina spotted an opportunity to fill a gap that had suddenly been created and in October 2009 Capital Barriers Ltd was born and went on over the next 10 years to become the go to choice for supplying Crowd Control Solutions for prestigious Red Carpet events in London and throughout the UK.
Garry Wakefield Director:
Garry has been working in the event sector since 1998 in senior roles predominately in the supply of portable building for hospitality facilities for many major events across the UK.
Garry noticed that there was a lack of quality suppliers for event fencing and barriers in the south of England that would not only supply fencing and barriers but offer the full service of providing free site surveys for event locations, supplying of a wide range of event equipment and carry out the installation and dismantling.
In 2005 Garry and his wife Leanne formed the business Temporary Fencing Ltd to provide this full service package to their many clients and since that date they have gone on to secure contracts which they have supplied for many years. One of the contracts was with Capital Barriers Ltd who covered the London area supplying fencing and barriers to Product Launches, Awards Ceremony’s, Sporting Events and to Red Carpet Film Premieres. There was a perfect synergy between the two companies and both businesses had the same work ethos of providing a quality product and service with a can-do attitude.
In an ever changing marketplace and to stay ahead of the competition, in 2018 we decided to merge the two businesses to provide a solid foundation on which to move the two companies forward so as to become stronger together while remaining competitive and still offering a first class hands on service to an ever growing and demanding event industry.
